Paul Anderson Aurora report, for Sunday 21st July 2002. Tasmania:

NOT MUCH WE WERE CLOUDED OVER TOO, BUT I DID SEE A GREEN GLOW LOW IN THE SKY AT ABOUT 1AM THIS MORNING IT WAS VERY FAINT.I TOOK SOME PICTURES BUT I DON’T KNOW IF THEY WILL TURN OUT BECAUSE I DIDN’T HAVE A TRIPOD SO I JUST RESTED THE CAMERA THE CAR ROOF AND TRIED TO BE AS STEADY AS POSSIBLE.HOPEFULLY THERE WILL BE A BIGGER ONE TONIGHT.

This is a photo of the April 17th aurora taken at the Ulverstone park Tasmania Australia. The camera was a Pentax k 1000, the lens was a 50mm at f/3.5, exposure time was 40 seconds on Fuji 400 film.
