Club events are held roughly every 2 weeks from February to November. These include events in the Wellington Orienteering Association's Orienteer of the Year competition and the Wellington Secondary Schools competition. On average, the club also organises a national level event every year.In 2007 we will be running the Queend Birthday 3-day event, and are already planning for the NZ Championships to be held in March 2008.
The club possesses maps of approximately 25 areas. These range from the technically demanding forested sand-dune terrain on the west coast of the lower North Island; through steep, and frequently rocky, farmland closer to Wellington; to small areas of forest and native bush in the Wellington City Town Belt.
The club is run by a committee which meets monthly at member's homes. Social events are held throughout the year.
The main officers of the club for 2007 are:
| Alan Horn | Convenor |
| Dorothy Kane | Secretary |
| Bill Hester | Treasurer |
| Christine Whiteford | Membership Secretary |
Wellington Orienteering Club also runs a Junior Development Fund. The purpose of this is to provide financial support for the club's juniors to attend training camps. Support for attendance at JWOC or the ANZ Challenge are considered separately as special cases.
